Hi beauties! Marieme and Yann finally got married and they had a gorgeous wedding at Au Vieux Moulin! These two are definitely one of my favorite couples. They are so kind and generous and just plain nice to be around. They’re the kind of couple that makes me feel extremely lucky that this is actually my business!
Before her wedding, Marieme told me that she was getting some custom dresses made in Senegal. I was very happy to hear this. For those of you who don’t know, my dad is from Togo and Benin so I grew up with these beautiful fabrics but I hadn’t had any of my couples incorporate our culture in this way until now. Well, I did fall in love with the bridesmaids’ dresses and this was officially my favorite bridesmaid look.
Marieme and Yann’s wedding was super intimate and it was obvious that every single person that was present cared about them very much. As for myself, it is the first wedding at which I actually cried. I mean, I’m known to tear up a bit from time to time, but I full-out cried! A lot! In fact, one older woman walked over to me and told me “don’t worry, it’ll be your turn soon” loooollll & omg & lmao!!! (I’m in a very loving relationship by the way!)
I think what did it was that Marieme walked down the aisle to Dangerously in Love by Beyonce, which to me, is one of the prettiest love songs of all times. Or maybe it’s because I already found their love story to be incredibly beautiful. Who knows! It could be their beautiful first look, the way they incorporated my culture, or the breath-taking venue. It was probably all of those things! All I know is that I had the best time.
